Ireland's Aiden McGeady could be set for a stint in La Liga - reports

The Irish international seems set to be offered an escape route from his Everton nightmare.

EVERTON OUTCAST AIDEN McGeady could be set for a loan transfer to Spanish side Sevilla.

Roberto Martinez has confirmed that McGeady is free to make a loan move during the January transfer window and media reports indicate that the La Liga side have made an approach to sign the Ireland international for the rest of the season.

Sevilla coach Unai Emery is believed to have instigated the approach, having managed McGeady for a brief period at Spartak Moscow previously.

Championship side Leeds recently confirmed their interest in McGeady, while unnamed Premier League clubs have also expressed interest in the out-of-favour winger, who has yet to play a minute of action in the Premier League this season.

Regular football with the Europa League holders, who are currently seventh in La Liga, would be a considerable boost to 29-year-old McGeady’s chances of making Ireland’s 23-man squad for Euro 2016.
