French midfielder Rabiot set for free transfer to Barca after PSG exit confirmed

The 23-year-old has reportedly agreed to swap the Parc des Princes for the Camp Nou.

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN have decided to allow unsettled France midfielder Adrien Rabiot to leave the club at the end of the current season, when he will be a free agent.

The 23-year-old with more than 150 top flight appearances has been agitating for a transfer for some time, and also snubbed a chance to be a squad member for Franceโ€™s World Cup winning team.

The clubโ€™s patience over Rabiotโ€™s reluctance to sign a new deal snapped yesterday, and, according to Le Parisien, he has already reached an agreement to join Barcelona in the summer.

โ€œThe club made the decision after a meeting with the player,โ€ said PSG sporting director Antero Henrique said.

The player told me he would not sign a new contract and wanted to leave the club as a free agent at the end of the season.โ€

Henrique said Rabiot would suffer because of the decision.

โ€œThe clear consequence of this is that he will be out of the starting line up for an unlimited period,โ€ he said.

Asked if the player could leave during the January transfer window the club said it would not rule it out.

Scott Brown could end up been the most import man on the pitch.. We have McCarthy out and our midfield at the best of time is seriously lacking..
