Some England players didn't seem bothered by their humiliating Euro exit last night

Adam Lallana was photographed smiling and joking with friends directly after the game.

WE THOUGHT THAT it couldn’t get any worse.

But, it has.

In the direct aftermath of their hugely embarrassing Euro 2016 defeat to Iceland – one of their worst results in history – some England players didn’t sit solemnly in a corner, stare into space and ponder the feeling of emptiness eating away in the pit of their stomachs.

Instead, they seemed to cheerily take it all in their stride.

As they emerged from the dressing rooms and went to greet family and friends inside the Stade de Nice, Adam Lallana was photographed laughing and joking.

Meanwhile, Jamie Vardy also enjoyed some light-hearted moments as he sat with his new wife and other friends.

It said much that as the team’s manager was announcing his resignation, the players that had failed him seemed to care so little for either Roy Hodgson’s enforced departure, their own performances or the fact their team had just suffered one of their most remarkable embarrassments of all time.
