TRIBUTES HAVE POURED in after Derry footballer Aaron Devlin sadly passed away this evening.
The 22 year-old fell ill last week and was rushed to hospital on Friday night.
He had played a challenge match with his club Ballinderry last Wednesday but came off citing low energy levels.
He had been in intensive care since last Friday and his club revealed the saw news of his death this evening.

Devlin was a four-time county senior football winner with his club Ballinderry and also won a Ulster senior club medal with them in their final win over Glenswilly in December 2013.
He also played for Derry at minor, U21 and senior level. In 2014, he featured for Derry’s senior side in their league semi-final win over Mayo in Croke Park.

Derry GAA tonight released a statement offering their condolences:
“The Derry GAA community is greatly saddened to learn of the untimely death of Aaron Devlin.
“It is difficult to comprehend the devastation that the Devlin family and the wider community of Ballinderry must be feeling at this time.
“This tragedy will be sorely felt throughout the Derry GAA family, and on behalf of all our players, officials and members, at home and abroad, we wish to extend our heartfelt sympathy to Aaron’s mother Carmel, father Eugene, sister Anna, and brothers Ronan and Coilin.
“We also offer all our condolences to the members of Aaron’s club, Ballinderry Shamrocks, his local community, his team-mates, and his many friends and colleagues.”
Tributes have also been paid on social media to Devlin.
