PALACE’S DOUR RUN of late has been well-documented. Despite recently reaching the FA Cup semi-finals, Alan Pardew’s side are not safe from relegation yet, having gone 12 matches without a win. That said, this game may be trickier than it looks for Leicester. The Eagles were unlucky not to get at least a draw in their recent match with Liverpool, though their record against the top-six is poor, failing to win any of their league games against them so far this season.
Prediction: Win
Southampton (home) — 3 April
Leicester will ostensibly be catching Southampton at a bad time. The Saints have lost just two of their past 10 games, having lost six out of eight league matches before then. However, the league leaders will still be confident owing to their excellent home record — they have nine wins and just one loss all season at the King Power Stadium.
Prediction: Win
Sunderland (away) — 10 April
One of the easier games in their run-in, seemingly — only goal difference keeps Sunderland out of the relegation zone as it stands. One note of caution though — the Black Cats have tended to end their season strongly in recent years. Towards the 2013-14 season, for instance, they effectively ended Chelsea’s title hopes with a shock victory at Stamford Bridge.
Prediction: Win
West Ham (home) — 17 April
There’s a case to be made that this match is Leicester’s hardest remaining fixture. West Ham have had a superb season and currently sit just two points off the top four. Nevertheless, the Hammers have struggled to recapture their Upton Park form away from home, winning just two of their past 10 away league matches
Prediction: Draw
Swansea (home) — 24 April
Another match Leicester would be expected to win — it has been a disappointing season for the Welsh side, who have yet to secure their Premier League status next season, as they currently sit 16th on 33 points. Alan Curtis’ men did manage to win 2-1 away at Arsenal recently, however, so the Foxes can take nothing for granted ahead of this game.
Prediction: Win
Man United (away) — 1 May
Even though it’s been an underwhelming season at Old Trafford, United’s home record is still relatively respectable. Louis van Gaal’s side have lost just twice at home in the league all season, and so this fixture very much looks like a potential banana skin for Claudio Ranieri’s side.
Prediction: Draw
Everton (home) — 7 May
Oddly, Everton tend to be much more difficult to play against on their travels. Compared with just seven league losses and only four wins all season at Goodison, Roberto Martinez’s men have been beaten just once in 13 matches away from home. It will be an intriguing encounter, as you could even argue that the Toffees have the more talented side on paper, but whereas Leicester are dramatically overachieving, Everton are currently languishing in 12th.
Prediction: Win
Chelsea (away) — 15 May
Ideally, Leicester will have the league won by this stage of the season, and so the outcome of this match will be largely irrelevant. Otherwise, it could be an incredibly nervy finish to their season, as the Londoners remain unbeaten since Guus Hiddink took over, after Jose Mourinho was sacked following Chelsea’s loss in the reverse fixture between these two teams back in December.
Prediction: Draw
Final total: 81 points
And what about their opponents fixtures….
