Limerick saw off Laois by 1-25 to 1-19 at home today in Kilmallock but needed an improved second-half display to do so.
Laois made the early running when Zane Keenan blasted a penalty to the net with only two minutes on the clock. Laois kept up the momentum after that goal and were in front 1-9 to 0-10 at the interval.
But Limerick bounced back in the second-half to outscore their opponents with Tommy O’Brien’s 60th minute goal helping secure the spoils.
Offaly made the long trek to Ballycastle and came away with a 2-17 to 0-19 success over Antrim.
Two goals from Shane Dooley in the first-half were central to their victory. Offaly were ahead by 2-7 to 0-9 at the interval on the back of that brace from Dooley.
Antrim tried to fight their way back into contention in the second-half yet Offaly did enough to maintain that four-point advantage all the way to the final whistle.
