Ireland took silver following a strong performance in Finland on Saturday afternoon at the U20s IAAF World Championships.

THE IRISH WOMEN’S 4 x 100m relay team stormed to a silver medal on Saturday afternoon at the U20s IAAF World Championships, setting a new national relay record.

The quartet of Molly Scott, Gina Akpe-Moses, Ciara Neville and Patience Jumbo-Gula recorded a run time of 43.90 seconds in Finland, producing a commendable performance in lane five.

Neville came in as a late switch on Saturday, replacing Rhasidat Adeleke who was ruled out through injury.

Ireland finished just behind winners Germany, beating Great Britain to second place.
