IT’S NOT SURPRISING that the climax to just the third-ever Premier League season lives long in the memory.

Not only was it Blackburn’s first and only title win so far, but it was also a highly entertaining conclusion.

Blackburn needed to beat Liverpool to guarantee glory, however their 2-1 loss ultimately did not matter, owing to title rivals Man United’s failure to beat West Ham.

It was a moment to savour for the late Jack Walker, the late owner who had helped the club become a major force in the top flight by signing high-profile stars such as Alan Shearer and Chris Sutton.
