2 Irish players included in EFL Team of the Season

Graham Carey and Enda Stevens have been recognised for their superb form.

PORTSMOUTH’S ENDA STEVENS and Plymouth’s Graham Carey have been recognised for their respective outstanding seasons today, gaining places in the EFL Team of the Season.

Former Shamrock Rovers player Stevens was a regular in the Portsmouth side that lifted the League Two title, overcoming Carey’s Plymouth on goal difference.

Carey, a 27-year-old midfielder from Blanchardstown who played for Celtic at youth level and also had a loan stint with Bohemians, scored 15 goals from 54 appearances in all competitions for the Pilgrims.

He is named as one of the substitutes for the team, which includes players from all the divisions across the Football League.

Meanwhile, 26-year-old full-back Stevens made 45 appearances in League Two for the side that had the best defensive record in the division, and is named as one of the reserves on the team.

Both players also featured in the recently announced League Two Team of the Year.
